Time and time again, The Shanghai Quartet has demonstrated an amazing breadth of repertoire that has become the group’s hallmark. With every concert this supergroup re-defines what it means to be a string quartet, and their concerts have become can’t miss music. In the first of two very dynamic programs this season, the Shanghai Quartet perform Joseph Haydn’s Op. 64 no. 5 “The Lark”, and String Quartet No. 6 in G Major by Shostakovich. In the second half of the program, the quartet is joined by renowned cellist Jan Vogler to perform Franz Shubert’s breathtaking String Quintet in C Major.
